Floyd Norman: An Animated Life chronicles the extraordinary career of the first African American animator at Disney and a legendary storyteller whose influence spans decades of animation history. Directed by  Michael Fiore and Erik Sharkey, the documentary blends original animated sequences with interviews and archival footage. The documentary traces Norman’s journey as an artist, innovator, and cultural trailblazer. Now in his 90s, Norman’s work continues to inspire and shape new generations of animators.

Immediately following the screening, there will be a conversation with Floyd Norman and LaCharles Ward, the museum’s Supervisory Curator of Photography and Film and Director of the Earl W. and Amanda Stafford Center for African American Media Arts.
