Sweet Home Café Chef’s Table & Book Signing with Author Carolyn Quick Tillery

Visit Sweet Home Café to enjoy a special menu curated by five-time published cookbook author and Tuskegee University alumna, Carolyn Quick Tillery. Her African American Heritage Cookbook series explores the history and heritage of Historic Black Colleges and Universities through recipes, narratives, diary excerpts, and vintage photographs. Tillery uses food and recipes as a tangible link to the past by highlighting traditional dishes to tell the story of HBCU's.

Copies of her cookbook, The African-American Heritage Cookbook: Traditional Recipes and Fond Remembrances From Alabama’s Renowned Tuskegee Institute will be available for sale and signing courtesy of Smithsonian Enterprises. For more details visit Sweet Home Café's webpageTimed-entry passes are required to enter the museum.
