View Event Details

Join Smithsonian Gardens in the Enid A. Haupt Garden to welcome spring with hands-on activities and a story time!

Location:
Find us on the East Terrace of the Enid A. Haupt Garden, near the Spencer Fullerton Baird statue by the Arts and Industries Building, southeast of the Smithsonian Castle. Enter the Enid A. Haupt Garden via Jefferson Drive, SW or Independence Avenue, SW.

About Garden Play:
Garden Play is a drop-in program for young learners and their caregivers to learn and play in a Smithsonian Garden. Each program is designed to foster appreciation and connection to the natural world through hands-on activities, story time, and a garden exploration. Join Smithsonian Gardens as we explore a different garden topic each month!

Garden Play is designed for children ages two and up and their caregivers and families. Activities are designed with early learners in mind, but children of all ages are welcome. Parents and guardians must remain with their children.

Please come prepared for an outdoor experience. Wildlife and insects, including bees and mosquitoes, are a part of our gardens. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sun protection, and are welcome to bring their own blankets for story time.

Activities may be subject to cancellation or modification due to weather conditions. (A little rain won’t keep us away, but we will cancel in the case of a heavy downpour or thunderstorm!) Please check the Smithsonian Gardens online calendar for the latest information: https://gardens.si.edu/plan-your-visit/events/
