Join the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History for Transportation Week, Monday, April 27, to Sunday, May 3, as we celebrate, reflect, and consider the future of transportation. 
 
Explore how railroads transformed American life with spotlight tours, hands-on docent carts, and a special Meet the Expert conversation in America on the Move. Discover how trains connect communities and power a growing nation. 
 
Activities:    

  • 10:30 a.m.–noon: Docent-led spotlight tours and hands-on carts (America on the Move)  
  • 2:00–3:00 p.m.: Meet the Expert  (America on the Move)
