We Make History: After Dark with Joi Carter

Celebrate opening night of We Make History with an unforgettable After Dark experience at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum.

As we officially open our doors to the public, this after-hours event invites you to exploring the dynamic practice of making history in greater Washington, D.C. by changemakers, who improve our communities, and history keepers, who preserve and share our stories.  Discover how change happens and how recording it helps us remember the past, live in the present, and shape the future.

The evening will feature a dynamic live performance by multi-faceted vocalist, Joi Carter, whose sound effortlessly moves across genres, joined by her band for an engaging musical experience.

Guests will enjoy access to the exhibition alongside light bites by Lucy Beas Kitchen, complemented by a selection beverages, available while supplies last.  Must be 21+ years of age to attend this event.

After Dark offers a curated night of music, culture, and connection.

Join us as we celebrate opening night of We Make History.

The opening celebrations for We Make History are sponsored by AARP and Pepco.
