Seafood 101: How to Shop Smarter, Eat Better and Rethink Aquaculture
Navigating seafood can feel confusing, from labels and sourcing claims to ongoing debates around sustainability and aquaculture. In this talk Imani Black, founder of Minorities in Aquaculture, will break down how consumers can better understand the seafood they’re buying and eating, including how to read seafood labels, what to look for at the market and how to ask the right questions. She'll also address some of the most common misconceptions about aquaculture and what it actually means for our food systems. Grounded in real-world experience, this session will help people feel more confident and informed in their seafood choices. By the end, attendees will have practical tools to make decisions that align with their values, budgets and access.
