Soar Together at Air and Space: Happy Birthday NASM!
Celebrate 50 years since the National Air and Space Museum opened its doors on the National Mall with a day of hands‑on science, make-and-take art, demonstrations and more!
Activities include:
- Learn how to fold amazing paper airplanes from The Paper Airplane Guy, John Collins
- Meet children's author Jamila Lindo and listen to her book, Hannah's Dream Tower
- Meet museum experts who worked on the museum's transformation
- Enjoy the play, Professor Wingnut, by Smithsonian's Discovery Theater
Soar Together at Air and Space Family Days are free to the public. Timed entry passes are required for entry into the museum. American Sign Language interpretation available for Kids Book Talk and the play.

Launch into the history of flight by surrounding yourself with icons of air and space travel. The flagship building on the National Mall in Washington, D.C, exhibits aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, rockets, and other flight-related artifacts.
