Live DJ Accompaniment by DJ 2Tone

We close out our John Woo Summer with another Can I Kick It? event, as DJ 2Tone of Shaolin Jazz spins along with Woo’s Hollywood debut, Hard Target.

Jean-Claude Van Damme stars as mullet-haired New Orleans former marine and drifter Chance Boudreaux. He saves a woman named Natasha (Yancy Butler) from a gang of thugs and then agrees to help her search for her unhoused father, who has gone missing. They discover a dastardly operation that lets rich men pay to hunt down and kill homeless men, led by Lance Henriksen as scenery-chewing Emil Fouchon. The resulting mayhem is Woo turned up to eleven as he applies his Hong Kong-honed action skills to a Hollywood-sized budget, with countless explosions and astonishing death-defying stunts from Van Damme.

Director: John Woo. Country: United States. Released: 1993. Length: 97 min. Format: Blu-Ray. Language: English.
