Hispanic Heritage Month Educator Open House

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an afternoon of exploration, learning, and connection at the National Museum of the American Latino. Educators are invited to discover the museum's K-12 educational resources, engage with hands-on activities, and connect with museum staff to learn about field trips, classroom opportunities, and educational programming.

Participants will enjoy a guided tour of ¡Puro Ritmo! The Musical Journey of Salsa, explore the GM Learning Lounge, sample classroom activities and field trip workshops, and learn about resources available for students from elementary through high school. The afternoon also includes opportunities to speak directly with the museum's Learning and Public Engagement team and participate in an interactive drumming circle.

All registered educators will receive an Educator Tote Bag filled with resources, books, and other giveaways to support teaching and learning.

Schedule:

2:00 p.m.: Interactive Tour of ¡Puro Ritmo! The Musical Journey of Salsa      
2:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.: Drop-in and Connect in the GM Learning Lounge: Engage with hands-on activities, educational resources and speak with the museum’s Learning and Public Engagement Team.
4:30 p.m.: Interactive Clave and Drumming Circle in the Molina Family Latino Gallery
5:30 p.m.: Event Concludes, Museum Closes
