International Cat Day
Have a paw-some time with the cats at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute!
On Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can prowl to the Great Cats exhibit and celebrate the many species of cats living at the Zoo. Get the inside scoop from animal care staffers about how the Zoo's species of cats spend their daily lives, and learn about conservation programs that are working to save cats in the wild.
Watch special animal feedings, talk to the Zoo's animal care experts, craft your own cat-themed art, and play games that celebrate your favorite felines!

Founded in 1889, the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute sits on 163 acres in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s Rock Creek Park and is home to more than 2,100 animals representing almost 400 different species.
