LOOK, LISTEN, CONNECT: Integrating Arts with the Smithsonian| Cultivating Learning

In this workshop, Jen Mellizo and Logan Clark from Smithsonian Folkways Recordings will demonstrate how to deepen student learning and engagement by integrating Smithsonian artwork, objects, and audio recordings into your lessons. We will share a new series of educational resources built around a learning sequence called LOOK, LISTEN, CONNECT, which combines close-looking and attentive-listening routines to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of topics that cross traditional subject boundaries—supporting standards in social studies, visual arts, English language arts, and music.
