UFOs: How Would Humanity Respond?

In 2021, the Pentagon acknowledged that Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) are real and may present national security concerns but found no evidence they are extraterrestrial. International relations scholar Alexander Wendt argues that if governments confirmed UAP were controlled by extraterrestrials, the greatest risk would come from humanity’s reaction. Rather than uniting the world, such a revelation could destabilize international politics, as awareness of a vastly superior intelligence might generate uncertainty, social disruption, political instability, and global conflict.
