Flight Garden

The Flight Garden at the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall explores the beauty and wonder of flight through the lens of plants. Flight Garden features two garden galleries. The Wind Garden explores how plants rely on the wind to disperse seeds, pollen, and spores. Habitat of Flight highlights the co-evolution of plants with creatures that fly. These themes also draw parallels to the ways in which plants have inspired human innovations in flight, making connections between plant life, wind, and mechanical flight.
