Using immersive experiences such as wind tunnels, the newly reimagined exhibition explores how people use science and engineering to maximize and minimize the forces acting on aircraft and spacecraft. Topics such as super– and hypersonic flight, aircraft design, and spacecraft design are also featured.

Launch into the history of flight by surrounding yourself with icons of air and space travel. The flagship building on the National Mall in Washington, D.C, exhibits aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, rockets, and other flight-related artifacts.
