Arizona State Museum

Established in 1893, the Arizona State Museum is the oldest and largest anthropology museum in the Southwest. Among the collections are a remarkably large whole vessel collection of Southwest Indian pottery and a significant collection of Mexican folk masks. The museum has collaborated with the Smithsonian on a number of projects, including the Summer Institute in Museum Anthropology (SIMA), which is a research training program offered annually by the Department of Anthropology at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
