Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture

The mission of the Northwest Museum of Art and Culture is to actively engage all people in the appreciation of arts, history, and culture through collection stewardship, exhibitions, and programs that educate and inspire. Accredited by the Alliance of American Museums, the museum maintains world-class collections of art, artifacts, and primary source material in three disciplines: regional history, fine art, and American Indian and other traditional cultures. Since it became a Smithsonian Affiliate in 2001, the museum has hosted traveling exhibitions from the National Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
