The National Civil War Museum inspires lifelong learning about the American Civil War and presents a humanistic, balanced perspective of the issues associated with both sides of the historic conflict. The Museum's exhibitions present artifacts of famous personalities, as well as many items from average soldiers from the North and South. Detailed and realistic displays cover all aspects of the Civil War including slavery, weapons, civilian life, medicine, Lincoln, and more. The Museum presents a range of educational programs for all ages to explore aspects and personalities of the Civil War, including living history interpreters, encampments, and a Civil War Adventure Camp. The Museum collaborates with the Smithsonian to bring Civil War scholars to speak on a variety of topics.
